The Owner's Story
I’ve had OCD since sixth grade and anxiety for as long as I can remember. It started out small, like having to step with my right foot over every single line in the sidewalk. Then it changed into only being able to do things at times that ended in the number eight. If the clock didn’t say 6:48 or 7:28 I couldn’t move forward. At first it was just a strange little habit, but as time went on it started eating up more and more of my day. It was exhausting and stressful.
On top of that, I barely spoke in school because my social anxiety kept me quiet. I did therapy all throughout school, and it helped in small ways, but it never really gave me the relief I needed. I tried SSRIs and had a horrible experience. I felt sick to my stomach and hated the way they messed with my brain. It didn’t feel like me.
Eventually I started digging for something else that might help. That’s when I found out about myo-inositol. I read stories from other people with OCD who had tried it and saw results, so I gave it a shot. At the time, I could only find it in powder form or capsules, so I ordered the powder.
The first week I took it, I noticed a real change. I felt happier. My compulsions were still there, but they weren’t running the show anymore. I could get through my day with less stress, and for the first time in a long time I felt some hope.
The reason it works is because myo-inositol supports serotonin signaling in the brain, which is tied to mood, anxiety, and compulsions. When that system is working the way it should, your brain doesn’t feel like it’s on overdrive all the time. That’s what I felt, like things finally calmed down a bit inside my head.
I still have days where my OCD and anxiety hit harder than others, but overall it’s been a huge change. Myo-inositol has helped me lower my compulsions and feel more at peace than I ever thought was possible. That’s why I created MyMood. I wanted to make it easier for other people like me to try something that actually makes a difference.
